As a senior full stack engineer, you'll lead end-to-end initiatives, design complete solutions and provide technical leadership across the entire application stack – from the interface a client taps on our app to the back-end systems processing their claim in real time.
Capitec Insurance is making a significant move into South Africa's insurance market, with 23 million banking clients and a three-year growth plan that demands technology built to scale. What you'll do here • Lead end-to-end system design across the full application stack
• Make architectural decisions that span front-end and back-end
• Mentor engineers on full stack practices and holistic technical thinking
• Drive technical standards across the team
• Design complete application architectures from the ground up
• Optimise performance across the entire stack
• Integrate complex systems across our insurance platform
• Balance front-end UX with back-end performance – so clients feel the quality of what you build

• 6+ years of proven full stack software development experience, delivering end-to-end solutions in production
• Strong back-end capability in C#/.NET Core
• Solid front-end experience with React or Vue and TypeScript
• Experience designing scalable systems in AWS environments
• A track record of leading technical decisions across the full stack – not just executing them
• Experience working in regulated or financial services environments is a strong advantage
• The ability to communicate technical decisions clearly to engineers, architects and business stakeholders
• A genuine interest in growing the engineers around you
Education
• Minimum: Grade 12 National Certificate
• Preferred: A relevant tertiary qualification in information technology
