We are seeking an energetic, highly adaptable, and motivated Forward Deployed Data Engineer to join our dynamic organisation. This role forms a crucial part of our Data and AI practice within our Engineering Team. You will act as the tip of the spear, working directly alongside our customers as part of a team of Data and AI practitioners delivering amazing technical solutions.
This position demands a deep level of expertise in Data Engineering technologies, a passion for solving complex architectural problems, and exceptional communication skills. ● Rapid Prototyping & Pilot Delivery. We believe in showing, not just telling. We expect you to take the initiative on the front lines by independently building—or leading teams to build—quick Proof of Concepts (POCs) that clearly demonstrate business value. You will be responsible for steering these initial builds into successful, scalable pilot project deliveries.
● Customer-Centric Communication. As a forward-deployed engineer, you are the bridge between our technical excellence and our clients' business needs. We expect you to possess the unique ability to communicate complex data concepts seamlessly to stakeholders at all levels—from deep-diving with technical engineering teams to presenting strategic value to C-level management.
● Architectural Mastery & Continuous Learning. You must possess a comprehensive understanding of diverse data landscapes. We expect you to expertly navigate and design across various architectures, be in cloud or on prem —including Hadoop, distributed systems, Massively Parallel Processing (MPP), columnar databases, and broader big data analytics. Furthermore, you will need to seamlessly blend your knowledge of traditional data engineering with emerging GenAI technologies.

Technical Requirements of this role:
● At least 10 years of proven industry experience in data engineering, data architecture, and enterprise software systems.
● A Computer Science (or equivalent) degree, or significant proven industry experience.
● Exceptional, hands-on proficiency in core Data Engineering technologies, specifically Python, SQL, and Apache Spark as well as key Data Management concepts.
● Deep expertise in modern cloud architectures and GCP data engineering services (e.g., BigQuery, Cloud Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Dataproc, Cloud Composer, and Dataplex) for designing resilient batch and streaming pipelines.
● Deep understanding of diverse data architectures (e.g., Big Data ecosystems, Hadoop, distributed computing, cloud native databases and advanced analytics).
● Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex technical architectures into business value for management, while also speaking at a granular level with technical teams.
● Demonstrated ability to rapidly build or lead the development of quick, effective Proof of Concepts (POCs) and transition them into successful pilot deliveries.
● A strong foundational grasp of both traditional data engineering paradigms and modern Generative AI (GenAI) technologies.
